What is the CCSE exam?
The Spanish Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge Test (CCSE test) is an exam developed by the Cervantes Institute that assesses, through various tasks, knowledge of the Spanish Constitution and Spanish social and cultural realities. It is one of the requirements established by Spanish law for granting Spanish nationality to foreign residents in Spain.
When is the CCSE exam?
CCSE Exam Dates The CCSE exam on Spanish constitutional and socio-cultural knowledge is held at our centre.
Venue: Candidates registered for the CCSE exam must attend our school: Spanish in Cadiz ® at Calle Pérgolas 5, 11007 Cádiz.
Date and time: Candidates registered for the CCSE exam must arrive at the exam centre on the date they have registered for, at the agreed time.
Before the exam begins, candidates must be identified and receive instructions on how the exam will be conducted from the invigilators.
Documentation that candidates must bring with them
- The registration confirmation you have received by email.
- Your original, valid passport.
Where will the exam take place?
The exam will take place at our Spanish in Cadiz ® school at Calle Pérgolas 5, 11008 Cádiz.
How to register for the CCSE test/exam.
Steps to follow:
1. Registration and payment must be completed online after registering at: ccse.cervantes.es/user/register.
2. Once registered, log in to your personal account at: ccse.cervantes.es/user/login.
3. View the upcoming courses and select our centre.

Once you have chosen the center, you must proceed to pay for the exam. You can pay using any of the usual payment methods: credit and debit cards through the Santander Elavon MerchantServices virtual POS system, or via PayPal, which also allows you to pay with all types of credit cards without needing to register.
Registration for the CCSE test entitles you to take it up to a maximum of two times, only if a candidate does not pass the test on the first attempt, or has not taken it on the first call.
Very important: You must change the email address for each candidate you register. You cannot use the same email address to register more than one candidate.
