Every day, a horse and carriage procession is held with an authorised route open to horses and carriages only between 12 noon and 8 pm.
Portada
This is the name given to the entrance archway, which stands at 50 metres tall. Translating literally as "front" or "façade", this structure alternates its design every year and it is illuminated with hundreds of lights that are switched on every evening when the sun goes down.
Portero
Meaning "doorman". Each caseta has a doorman who is responsible for controlling the flow of people entering the area.
Recinto Ferial
The location of the Fair.
Real de la Feria
This is the official title of the venue.
Rebujito
The ingredients of this drink are manzanilla (a dry sherry originating from Sanlúcar de Barrameda) and Sprite or 7 Up. Traditionally, it is ordered in pitchers or "jarras" to then be distributed among smaller plastic cups.
Sevillanas
A four-part Fair dance. Tradition and flamenco combine in an elegant twisting of the body and hands.
Tablao
This is where you'll see professional shows. Can also mean the wooden stage inside casetas where fair-goers perform dances local to Seville.
